Summary

Naturalist Karl Darwing notices the footprints of a one-legged creature in the snow. As the naturalist attempts to follow the trail and make a discovery, he is surprised to find the number of footprints increasing. By the time Karl's guesses go as far as a ten-legged space alien or five bandits, he decides that the potential discovery is best given up for now - but the reader can have the pleasure of getting to the bottom of things. Young readers can practise their counting and reading skills in this funny and educational book.

Additional text

"The ingenious plot full of slightly absurd humor goes well with illustrations kept in an unobvious palette, combining various techniques, perfectly composed and creatively referring to the classic achievements of illustrations for children. A great proposition for both independent and family reading." --Ksiazkiwprezencie.pl

"This book can be used not only as a first reading book, but also to improve understanding of numbers and mathematics, from 1 to 10 in a discreet and playful way. This story not only enhances understanding of numbers and quantities, but also strengthens the visual representation of numbers (…). Another benefit of "Unwanted Discovery" is that through this story play, the child can become acquainted with the deduction method, observe the intrinsic causal principle in the reality of the story, and, of course, introduce it to its own consciousness for further transfer." --Satori.lv
