Informationen zum Autor Dr. Richard Hamilton is chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Hamilton has been a faculty member at the College since 1997.'A Philadelphia native, Dr. Hamilton received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Hahnemann University. After medical school, he was on active duty as a U.S. Navy flight surgeon, performing research in aerospace medicine. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. He subsequently completed a fellowship in medical toxicology at New York University, where he was also a faculty member working in the Emergency Department of New York City`s Bellevue Hospital.'Dr. Hamilton is board certified in emergency medicine and medical toxicology and is a captain in the US Naval Reserves. In 2003, he spent two weeks in Ghana, where he participated in the Navy`s West African Training Cruise Medical Outreach Program. He was mobilized to active duty for one year in 2004 under Operation Enduring Freedom.
