"Oswald Bastable and Others" is a trilogy of children's novels by Edith Nesbit (1858 - 1924), including "The Story of the Treasure Seekers" (1899), "The Wouldbegoods" (1901), and "The New Treasure Seekers" (1904). Nesbit was a prolific and popular writer of children's literature, publishing more than 60 such books under the name E. Nesbit. She was also a political activist and co-founded the Fabian Society, which had a significant influence on the Labour Party and British politics in general. Elizabeth Cochrane Seaman (1864-1922) was born Elizabeth Jane Cochran in Pennsylvania, USA. Better known by her pen name, Nellie Bly, the journalist's most famous works include the account of her record-breaking world trip, Around the World in Seventy-Two Days, and her mental institution exposé, Ten Days in a Mad-House, in which she went undercover to reveal the truth about the conditions of asylums. Bly was a pioneering writer, introducing the trend of stunt girl reporting.
