About the author

Yuasa Yasuo (1925–2005) was Professor Emeritus at Obirin University in Japan and the author of several books, including Overcoming Modernity: Synchronicity and Image-Thinking, The Body, Self-Cultivation, and Ki-Energy and The Body: Toward an Eastern Mind-Body Theory, both also published by SUNY Press.Shigenori Nagatomo is Assistant Professor at Temple University. He is co-author of Science and Comparative Philosophy, and co-translator of The Body: Toward an Eastern Mind-Body Theory by Yuasa Yasuo, published by SUNY Press, and Toward Superconsciousness: Meditational Theory and Practice.
