A lesser known branch of Yoga, the practice of Nada Yoga is the Meditation of Sound. This sub category of Kundalini Yoga focuses on awakening of the Primal Energy that sits dormant in human beings and allows its ascension through all chakras, promoting health, spirituality and well being. Focus on trivial sounds leads to gradual awareness of the Anahata Nada that brings relief from bodily disorders, stress disorders by acting on various systems in our body. Hypertension is an extremely common condition that brings with it a huge list of co morbidities which debilitate an individual's life to a great extent. The practice of Meditation on Sound has a significant impact on the increased blood pressure thereby reducing the risks of co morbidities. This work seeks to improve the overall health of by use of the ancient yet simple practices of Nada Yoga that uplifts the individual not only in health but also in spirituality.

About the author










The Author has completed her Bachelors of Physiotherapy from PES Modern College of Physiotherapy, Pune, India. A University Gold Medallist in MUHS, she wishes to pursue her Masters in the Cardiorespiratory PT discipline. The Co- Author, Dr. Gauri Mayank Afle (MPT - cardiorespiratory PT, ICU), is currently an Associate Professor at PES MCOP, Pune.
