ISCC ABM Solar-Thermal plant is operational in May 2010 inaugurated of HRH Mohammed VI, to meet the needs in electrical energy to other industrial facilities. The plant consists of a solar field of 224 parabolic trough collector distributed over an area of about 80 hectares. On the operations side, these collectors need to be exposed to the outside to run under the most direct sunlight. Unfortunately, this exposure can generate harmful effect on the collector and decreased production of the plant. The plant is always looking for minimized cost of production followed by a technology to deal with the problem associated with aging, a project launched by the plant to replace the normal cleaning in the solar field by applying a self-cleaning coating.
