About the author

Jarkko Saarinen is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Oulu, Finland, and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Sustainability Management at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. His research interests include tourism and development, sustainability in tourism, tourism and climate change adaptation, tourism-community relations, and wilderness and nature conservation studies.

Summary

This book comprises scholarship on sustainable tourism, demonstrating the rich body of past research that provides a fertile and critical ground for studies on the Sustainable Development Goals by tourism geographers and other social scientists in the future. It was originally published as an online special issue of Tourism Geographies.
