A research on rural community participation and implementation of development projects was conducted in Busogo Sector, Musanze District, Rwanda, from June to July 2012 to assess the level of community involvement in the design and implementation of three development projects that impact rural people's lives in the research area. The three projects were, the Crop Intensification program (CIP), The Acqua Virunga water project (WP) and the Family Planning program (FPP). The study indicated that there was a strong statistical linear relationship between the level of implementation of the three development projects and the two types of community participation: Coercive participation and Induced participation. The research examined different levels of participation and their influence on the implementation and sustainability of selected development projects and development programs.
