About the author

Guangjin Chen, male, was born in May 1962. He is currently the director of the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and vice president of Chinese Sociological Association. He received a PhD degree from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1997. His research areas focus on Rural Sociology, Rural-Urban development, Social Stratification and Social Mobilization, Private Entrepreneur Class. His works include Modern Chinese Social Structures,   Modern Chinese Social Mobilization, Chinese Well-Off Society etc.

Jianhua Yang, male, was born in October 1956. He is the director and researcher of Institute of Public Policy Studies, Zhejiang Academy of Social Sciences. His research area focuses on sociology, social development and social issues and policy. He has published more than 13 books including Socialized Production in Small Scale: Inner Logic of Zhejiang Modernization; Experience China: Case Studies of 7 Zhejiang Villages; Harmony Culture in Early China etc.
