About the author

Vania L. Sandoval earned her PhD in social and cultural anthropology at the Ruprecht—Karl University of Heidelberg, Germany. Her research interests include emigration to Europe and cultural identity, the anthropology of food and eating, and leisure and lifestyle studies.
