Over recent years the mining industry has suffered from low commodity prices in an unfortunate cyclical lull. With billions of dollars invested in the market, it is imperative, now more than ever, that past present and future production and financial figures are vigilantly analysed to maximise financial gain. This report uses past data to provide a forecasting of various production and financial data up to and including the year 2025 for two major gold mining companies, Kinross Gold Corporation and Goldcorp Inc. The subsequent analyses and evaluations of the individual mining assets and corporate structures provides a basis on which the investability of each company is proposed. This analysis should help highlight some of the predominant factors that affect the performance of individual mining assets, as well as the long term success of such companies, thus should prove particularly useful in gaining contextual information for anyone entering the field, or indeed professionals involved in financial forecasting.
