About the author

Kate Bird helped manage the photograph collection at the Vancouver Sun and the Province for twenty-five years. She authored Vancouver in the Seventies and City on Edge and has conducted research for numerous books including the award-winning Making Headlines: 100 Years of the Vancouver Sun.
