About the author

Richard Bradley is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Archaeology, University of Reading. A Fellow of the British Academy and Honorary Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, he is the author of The Use and Reuse of Stone Circles (2016) and The Idea of Order (2012) among many other publications.

Summary

This book brings together the results of fieldwork and academic research to highlight the achievements of prehistoric people who lived in these islands between their settlement by the first farmers and Julius Caesar's invasions of southeast England. It emphasises landscapes and monuments that can be visited today.
