Drought is a complex phenomenon and serious danger to world agricultural production in the coming few decades. Breeding for drought adaptation in potatoes is a difficult task because of polygenic and multi-trait nature of the drought resistance. In breeding for drought resistance, availability of precise, cheap and easy to apply selection tool is critical. Morpho-physiologic traits and resistance indices could be a commendable indirect selection tools in conventional breeding programs.
