The control over the oxidative stress (OS) is among the key factors in the maintenance of the free radicals homeostasis. If this control is insufficient, pathologies and diseases occur, further increasing the OS levels and provoking the development of more new diseases. Along with the standard treatment protocols, the alternative medicine offers possibilities to keep OS levels favorable for the patients recovery. The advantages and risks related with the use of alternative methods for OS control are under intensive research in relation with the needs of the integrative medicine. This book presents in a simplest way the concepts for the free radicals homeostasis, OS, OS-provoking and OS-induced diseases. Literature data about possibilities to control the OS using various alternative approaches, along with the standard medical treatment, are discussed. The alternative methods are not completely harmless and have to be applied after consultation and under supervision of skilled and competent health professional. This book might be helpful for health professionals as well as patients who are interesting in maintenance of the oxidative stress using alternative medicine.
