The study has been based largely on secondary data, available from official reports, surveys, both published and unpublished. The main sources of data are Economic Survey, Annual Survey of Industries, Statistical Abstract of study area in Visakhapatnam etc. And the reports of different departments and scholars have been used for this purpose. The study has covered the period from 2000-01 to 2013-14. To analyse the information, different statistical techniques have been used. The simple percentage analysis and cross table analysis have been used to determine the relationship between variables, samples and fixed employment in agro-based industries and chi-square test has been used to analyse the determinants of employment in agro-based industries
