On his travels he meets, interrogates, and observes those who interact with the animals--trappers, wildlife researchers, hunters, rattled pet owners, and even one devoted coyote hugger. Along the way, he encounters sensible, yet sometimes perplexing, insight concerning the migration into the Southeast of the American coyote, an animal that, in the end, surprises him with its intelligence, resilience, and amazing adaptability.
About the author
John Lane was born in Sydney in 1948. The first of a Yorkshire emigrant family to be born in Australia. He is a life-long surfer and has travelled extensively throughout the United States, Central America, England and Europe. He is now retired, and lives with his wife, Mary, in the beach community of Nelson Bay on the New South Wales mid coast. This is his first novel.
