Globalization has let into the materialization of the called new/digital economy which embraces in a great degree IPRs. To that extent, in a knowledge-driven economy, the successful protection of IPR is emerging as a central ingredient of commercial success. Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) are the intangible capital forming FDI that has considerably changed the landscape of the global economy. Thus, IPRs protection is a vital means in attracting FDI inflows contributing to the growth of a country. Which is the role of IPRs in attracting FDI? The current work via a quantitative analysis of IPRs laws of 79 countries and the 28 countries of the EU followed by an econometric analysis provides an answer.
