This research has the following objectives. The main objective was to investigate how peoples' welfare is impacted by land fragmentation, supported by specific objectives which were: 1. To find out the causes of land fragmentation; 2.To analyze the opportunities and constraints associated with land fragmentation; 3. To suggest strategies of reducing land fragmentation. The significance of the study was: 1.The research will help the policy makers like C.D.Os/ planners to advice ways to end land fragmentation, since the people suggested they will better reduce the practice of land fragmentation; 2.The research will help the local community leaders to solve the constraints of land fragmentation; 3.It will also enable the researcher to attain a degree in development studies of Kyambogo University, because it is one of the requirements that he must fulfill for the graduation; 4.It will be used by future researchers who will be carrying out researches on related topics to land fragmentation and peoples' welfare.

About the author










Fredrick Ssegawa is a graduate of Kyambogo university. He holds a Bachelors degree of Development studies, specialised in rural development, and picked more interest in making studies about the peripheral societies. This was one of the factors that influenced him to make a study about land fragmentation and the social WALFARE of the people.
