Trionfi invece, eccettuato un capitolo, che è il II della Morte, il Petrarca non li potè finire. Furono trovati fra le sua carta involti in tanti rotoli e in uno stato da far disperare. Versi erano sepolti sotto innu merevoli correzioni, mutamenti, cancellature, che egli, non mai soddisfatto, v' era andato facendo per parecchi anni. Ricopiato in pu lito non v'era che quel bellissimo Capitolo che in molti codici trovasi primo di tutti.
