Sometido el asunto al arbitraje de la Santa Sede, N. S P. León XIII dió la razón a quien la tenía, y las Carolinas quedaron por nosotros. Entonces fué cuando 'el Rmo. P. Provincial de nuestra Orden en España Fr. Joaquín María de Llevaneras, se ofreció al gobierno para enviar misioneros a dichas islas, con tal que nos concedieran los privilegios que go zan (1) las otras órdenes religiosas, que tienen mi siones establecidas en nuestras colonias oceánicas; y obtenida la concesión, marcharon doce religiosos para dichas islas el de Abril de 1886.
