Reading is essentially a complex one that involves a lot of things, not just to recite writing, but also involves visual, thinking, psycholinguistic, and metacognitive activities. As a visual process of reading is the process of translating symbols (letter) into spoken words. As a thought process, reading includes the activity of word recognition, literal understanding, interpretation, critical reading, and creative understanding. Word recognition can be in the form of reading words using a dictionary. DRTA strategy (Directed Reading Thinking Activity) is a teacher strategy to motivate effort and concentration of students by engaging them intellectually and encourage them to formulate questions and hypotheses, process information, and evaluate temporary solutions. Explained that through this DRTA strategy, it is hoped not only able to encourage reading interest of students but students are required to give prediction from a story and draw conclusion from story given by teacher.

Otang Kurniaman, nato a Bandung il 18 maggio 1983, ha conseguito una laurea in Lingua e Letteratura Indonesiana presso l'Universitas Riau nel 2006 e un master presso l'Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia nel 2008, completando la sua formazione in Educazione Elementare e attualmente insegna presso l'Universitas Riau.
