Neural correlates of risk processing - Neural correlates of emotional processing regarding different environmental domains

Successful processing of potentially dangereous events is decisive for survival. Uwe Herwig investigated the neural processing of stimuli representing risks in different environmental domains by using functional neuroimaging including neurofeedback. He outlined the information flow in the brain during risk processing particularly focusing on emotions, and also addresses strategies for coping with challenges in everyday live.

About the author

Uwe Herwig studied medicine at the University of Göttingen, Germany, and performed his habilitation in Ulm and further neuroscientific work in Zürich, Switzerland. He obtained doctoral degrees from the University of Göttingen and the ETH Zürich. He worked for long time, also in leading positions, at the University Hospital for Psychiatry in Zürich.
