The second of two companion books which address the biology and clinical aspects of prostate cancer. This volume, Prostate Cancer: Molecular & Diagnostic Imaging and Treatment Stategies, discusses both classic and the most recent imaging approaches for detection, early diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. The companion title,  Cell & Molecular Biology of Prostate Cancer, covers classic and modern cell and molecular biology as well as genetics, epigenetics, mitochondrial dysfunctions and apoptosis, cancer stem cells, angiogenesis, progression to metastasis, and treatment strategies including clinical trials related to prostate cancer. Taken together, these volumes form one comprehensive and invaluable contribution to the literature.

About the author

Dr. Heide Schatten is a cell and molecular biologist at University of Missouri-Columbia. She specializes in reproduction and cancers of the reproductive systems. She has been involved as scientist adviser to advocates of Cancer Foundations and as a reviewer and study section leader of several Foundations and she has been a reviewer for the DOD prostate cancer program. She has had Cancer Research support and interacted with a large number of well known prostate cancer researchers including many from NIH Comprehensive Cancer Centers.  Her publication record shows over 220 original publications, many of which are focused on cell cycle and cytoskeletal abnormalities that are hallmarks for prostate cancer.  She has edited several previous books including (2013) Cell and Molecular Biology of Breast Cancer which has over 19,000 downloads.
