This beautifully illustrated book features fifty black and white illustrations of barns, bridges, churches, and other rural buildings throughout Michigan. Each drawing is enhanced by a vignette about the structures featured. The fifty illustrations are suitable for framing and the accompanying vignettes (only one or two pages in length) contain interesting facts, figures, and anecdotes about the buildings. Michigan Barns, Et Cetera is a wonderful book for anybody interested in art and the rural history of Michigan.

About the author

Jerry R. Davis was born, reared and lived most of his life in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. He taught in several secondary schools after earning his bachelor's degree in history from Michigan State University. Later he earned a master's degree, also in history, from Central Michigan University. After retiring, Jerry moved to Albuquerque in 1997 because of the milder winters found here. He is a member of SouthWest Writers, the New Mexico/Arizona Book Co-op, and the Writers to Writers Workshop. He has been a finalist for the New Mexico Book Awards for his previous books, Leafing Through My Family Tree, Master of None: A Love-Hate Affair with Home Remodeling, Michigan Barns, Et Cetera: Rural Buildings of the Great Lake State, and Barns of the Land of Enchantment
