Summary

Our biosphere is shaped by vast numbers of different prokaryotic microorganisms which show extremely diverse metabolic capabilities. This book provides an up-to-date overview of the metabolic processes that occur in bacteria and archaea, and the key processes that determine their roles in the environment, biotechnology and human health.
