Maxima sane de vera voeis origine est lis inter melioris motae grammaticos. Ex plurimo rum sententia pulex dictus est a voce pullus, quae ratio originis induxit Caelium Calce ut contra omnium critioorum vota non pulex, sed pullex scribendum esse con tenderet. Alii pulvere pulicem nominatum putant, quum pulvis sit alimentum pulicis, vel rectius, quia ex pulvere nascitur pulex; delicatiores enim sunt pulices quam ut pul vere sint contenti, quum quotidie deliciiè et sanguine virgineo aut muliebri saltem uti fruique solezmt.
