Excerpt from A Treatise on Criminal Procedure, Vol. 1

The new matter on Specific Crimea - which ends With page 1708, - is thought in and of itself to justify this new edition. While it has been sought to bring out every point that has been adjudicated, and collect the cases, it must be borne in mind that most of the rulings cited, and a large proportion of the con¿ict pointed out, are due to statutory provisions in the various jurisdictions. The statute under which any particular decision was made should be carefully collated with the statute under which it is sought to be applied.
