Muchas tentativas sehan hecho en diferentes oca siones y circunstancias, para descender el Río Pi] comayo, pero todas dieron resultados negativos. En el territorio boliviano ese río tiene más de 200metros de ancho, y embarcaciones de poco calado lo remontan en una distancia bastante larga. En el territorio nacional la navegación no es posible más que en un corto recorrido, y todavía la sinuosidad del río la hace extremadamente peligrosa.
