Biotechnological research have generated several legal, social and ethical issues. It was argued that since its basic research material is product of nature it is not qualified as a subject matter of patents. Moreover, the physical similarity of natural products and biotechnological products have been questioned. Number of other inter-related social and scientific institutions raised voice on its working. The advent of biotechnology necessitated that patent laws to be suitably modified to bridge the gap of principles of patent and science and technology. In this book an attempt is made to examine substantive and procedural aspects related to biotech patenting in India. Here this books also tries to explore its impact on agriculture and health sectors. On the basis of the research author has suggested that biotechnological patenting regulations in India are in urgent need of attention. Author has argued to give differential treatment for biotech inventions patenting.

Associate Professor, Galgotias University,Greater Noida, U. P.India. Ph.D. in Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. His area of interest is Laws relating to Patents, International Trade law and Cyber Law. He was teaching faculty at Delhi University, Kurukshetra University and National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.
