McCullough ’s first brush with writing for games was as co-author of The Grey Mountains supplement for the Middle-Earth Role-Playing Game , and he has remained passionate about Fantasy gaming since, going on to become an award-winning game designer. He is the creator of the “ Frostgrave Family” of skirmish wargames (the Fantasy titles Frostgrave , Ghost Archipelago , Rangers of Shadow Deep , and the Sci-Fi evolution, Stargrave ), the Oathmark Fantasy battle game and The Silver Bayonet , a game of Napoleonic Gothic Horror. Daniel Mersey has spent more than three decades leading miniature armies to spectacular defeat on tabletop battlefields. He has won no medals and his armies will never salute him. Daniel has been writing books, gaming articles, and rulesets since the 1990s. His rulebooks for Osprey Publishing include two Origins Award-nominated titles, Lion Rampant and Dragon Rampant , and the UK Games Expo Judges’ Award-winning Rebels and Patriots (with Michael Leck). In 2021, Daniel was appointed as the University of Edinburgh’s first ever Games Designer in Residence. Joey McGuire is the President and Head Janitor of World’s End Publishing, and is the author of This Is Not a Test . A geek and long-time gamer, Joey got into the miniatures hobby after entering a gaming store in 1997 and discovering the Games Workshop product catalog. Since that auspicious day, Joey has been modelling and painting miniatures, building terrain, and writing his own rules. This Is Not a Test was his first solo publication, but he has also worked on several other projects, both personal and for Rattrap Productions. Joey is also a devoted husband, proud father, and a humble civil servant by day. Ash Barker discovered miniatures in 1988 in the back of the classic Fighting Fantasy adventure books. These tiny, perfect worlds and their heroic inhabitants would capture his imagination for the next 30 years. Since 2001 he has worked in the wargames industry. In June 2015 he founded Guerrilla Miniature Games, a YouTube channel that specializes in bringing a spotlight to all miniature games, great and small. Chris Pramas is an award-winning game designer, writer, and publisher. He is best known as the designer of the Dragon Age RPG and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, 2nd Edition, and as the founder and President of Green Ronin Publishing. He has been a creative director at Wizards of the Coast and Flying Lab Software and a lead writer at Vigil Games. Green Ronin continues to thrive under his leadership, publishing roleplaying games like Mutants & Masterminds, DC Adventures, and A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying. When the young Matthew Ward wasn’t reading of strange worlds in the works of C S Lewis, Tolkien and Douglas Hill, he was watching adventure and mystery in Doctor Who, and Richard Carpenter’s excellent Robin of Sherwood series. Now a grown up (by some measures, at least), he firmly believes that there’s not enough magic in the world, and writes stories to entertain anyone who feels the same way. He lives near Nottingham with his extremely patient wife, and three attention-seeking cats. Philip Smith is a lifelong history enthusiast, and has carried his interest through an undergraduate degree at Lincoln College, Oxford, and into his career as an editor, where he specializes in military history and tabletop wargaming.
