"Technical assistants" in many fields of work and life are currently gaining attention in scientific and public debates with regard to visions of future care settings. However, it can not be stated that these technologies are used effectively. Against these problems, the authors propose the approach of demand-oriented technology development, which is exemplarily shown in the submitted study on the care of people with dementia.
