About the author
Jason Carney was raised in Lancashire, England. He played at all levels and always wanted to be a coach, and now he is a UEFA qualified soccer coach. After coaching professionally for six years with Preston North End FC, he moved to the United States. There, he learned the importance of understanding the game at the grass-roots level. Jason worked at various soccer clubs and became frustrated by the lack of passion for development. When he obtained the position of technical director, he gained the opportunity to put a development plan into place. He saw the growth and team bonding it created throughout the soccer club.
