Letude qu'e. Bertrand a publiée sur Lambert dans la Revue musicale de 1859 n'est plus guère lue que des musicologues, de même les quelques pages que lui ont consacrées Lemaire et Lavoix dans leur livre sur Le Chant (paris A bien des personnes le nom de Lambert ne sera connu que par la célèbre satire III de Boileau. La dernière édition du Dictionnaire de musique de Riemann ne contient sur Lambert que quelques lignes et les indications biblio graphiques qui s'y trouvent sont, en partie, inexactes.
