Sin embargo Descartes, que murió en 1650 y que había pu blicado su Discomºs en 1637, si no ha influido en la obra de Corneille 1636 es el año del Cid y de las controversias lite rarias que surgieron en ocasión del Cid, - Descartes, digo, ha tenido incontestable influencia en el gran período clásico fran cés que se extiende de 1660 a 1715 y en el arte clásico literario decadente del siglo XVI hasta Voltaire.
