Si può anzi asserire senza tema di errare, non es sere supponibile che un giovane il quale intenda farsi strada nella carriera che ha abbracciato, qualunque essa sia, possa trascurare codesta scienza nobilissima, senza gli elementi della quale egli non solo farebbe meschina figura conversando con persone civili, ma neanche potrebbe dedicarsi con profitto alla lettura della storia.
