Colombiana,1 è doveroso accennare innanzi tutto al Giorgini, il quale compose il primo poema sul grande Genovese, ed allo Stiglianr che ne seguì posc1a l'esempio. Entrambi però questi poeti furon vinti dalle difficoltà del soggetto e si chiar1rono non atti all'ardua impresa, di guisa che i loro poemi caddero presto in un quasi totale obblio. Al primo, a parere delle Steiner, sfuggì la grandezza dell'uomo preso a cantare: egli ci diede.
