Doch ist es heutzutage unleugbare Tatsache, daß vielleicht infolge der stärkeren Betonung der Mathematik im Schul unterricht jeder gebildete Nichtmathematiker das Problem wenigstens dem Namen nach kennt und weiß. Daß es un lösbar ist oder daß bis jetzt auch den berühmtesten Mathe matikem eine Lösung nicht geglückt ist. So findet sich häufig in nichtmathematischen Schriften, ja sogar in unseren Zeitungen heute noch die Redensart: "die Quadratur des Zirkels versuchen in dem Sinne "etwas Unmögliches tun.
