Più d' ogu' altra cosa però ti vede ch' ci pone cura di andar imitando negli eccellenti Greci, e massimamente in Anucreonte, in Moscg, come détto abbiamo, in Teocrito, certe figure, certi traslati, certe immaginette, certi vezzi ìn somma, che sembrano a¿'atto naturali, e pur sono arfificioaissimi, e comma mente delicati nell; quale imitazione il Tasso oi contenuo veramente da quel grand' uomo ch'egli era; perciohchè non ricopiò già egli, nè troppo da vicino imitò, ma sul tronco dello greche.belìezze innestò, per così dire, le ma proprie, e quelle àella ma lingua, di modo che no venne a produrre un frutto neutrale auai piacevole, e per avventura anche più uaporoso del primo, ed originario.
