The sample of water used in this analysis was collected by one of the writers, near the northern shore of Lake Chaplin and near the railway station of the same name, in July, 1904. At the time Of collection the water emitted a distinct Odor of hydrogen sulphide and carried only traces of suspended matter. The sample was so small that some Of the constituents were not determined.
