Se in alcuni casi soltanto 1 1ride infiammata si mostra arrossata per iniezione, questa vale sem pre a modificarne il colore. L'alterazione del co lore consiste in generale in ciò, che le iridi chiare divengono verdastre, e le scure tendono ad acqui stare un rosso cupo. Le modificazioni di colore sono però subordinate all' essudato superficiale che rimane adeso alla faccia anteriore dell' iride, o sospeso nell' umore acqueo, o precipitato sulla faccia concava della cornea.
