Die Nervi olfactorii, welche immer eigene Anschwellungen (tubercula olfactoria) besitzen, nehmen bei allen Knochenfrschen ihren Ursprung von der unteren Fläche der Hemisphären des grossen Gehirnes. Von der Richtigkeit dieser Behauptung überzeugt man sich vor Allem bei denjenigen Fischen, deren Tubercula olfactoria kurz vor dem Eintritte der Geruchsnerven in das Riechorgan liegen, aber auch haufig bei solchen, deren Tubercula olfactoria unmittelbar an den Vorderrand der Hemisphären angefügt sind.
