In this book, NACA 0025 aerofoil wind turbine blade is used for modeling the vertical axis wind turbine rotors. The straight bladed vertical axis wind turbine rotor is twisted to 450 in order to improve the performance of rotor. The structural analysis in ANSYS APDL and CFD analysis in ANSYS-CFX for the straight and twisted blade vertical axis wind turbine rotor with a cowling device has been undertaken. Due to limitation on experimentation, the computational fluid dynamic approach has been used to quantify the wind loads on the blades. On further application of these loads, the structural behavior of the rotor is obtained for a predetermined set of operating conditions.
