Der Jager, der so sagen wollte, musste seine ganze Spurkunst an den Nagel hängen, und der Gelehrte, der über die Unsicherheit einer heuristischen Arbeitshypothese lächelt, ist kein Forscher mehr. Der Falke selbst muss manchen Flügelschlag vergeblich tun, ehe er zum Stoss ansetzen kann, und selbst mancher Stoss geht ihm fehl. Das schadet nichts. Es gelingt das nächste Mal. Einen Versuch lohnt es doch, wenn die meinetwegen noch so un gewisse Beute eine hinreichend wertvolle ist. Drum möge diese Schilderung ein Vorbild sein für gewisse Untersuchungen dieses Jahrgangs.
