Excerpt from Geschichte der Sinfonie und Suite
Die zahlreichen weitem Vorarbeiten, bestehend in Einzelbeiträgen, sind im Text selbst genannt; mit Dankbarkeit möchte ich hier nur noch hervorheben die Studien Hugo Riemanns zur Geschichte der Suite und der Mannheimer Sinfonie.
Zu beachten bitte ich, daß das Manuskript zum vorliegenden Handbuch im Herbst 4918 abgeschlossen wurde; der Zeitverhältnisse wegen konnte die Drucklegung erst jetzt erfolgen.
