Moratti (fancesco) scultore che Operava in Roma nell' età di Lorenzo Bernini, fece nella chiesa di S. Giovanni Laterano a concor renza di altri sei asette artisti una delle statue dei dodici Apostoli peo gite cadauna più di duemila scudi, oltre il marmo. Al Moratti tocco in sorte quella di S. Simone, per alcuni ris etti creduta una delle migliosi. Eonvien dire che il Mo. Ratti avesse fatti altri lavori d' im portanza perocche il papa aveva ordinato che le statue suddette ve nissero allogate ai migliori artisti di Roma.
