Bien an tant Baudoins que Karles est irez;
Ne voit pas la maniéré comment soit racordcz,
Se ançois n'a de Rune les regorz trespassez,
Si que de Saisne soit véuz et esgardez.
Tel ire a à son cuer, par po n'est forsenez:
Baudoin, dist li rois, ce fu granz folestez
Qant de Rune passer fuz par vos enviez.
Par le cors saint Denis, qi est mes avoez!
Je ai faite la voie: après moi passerez.
Se Saisne vos assaillent, si vos an desfandez,
Com faire me covint de vij rois coroncz.
Juenes esles et forz, et je auques usez;
Se je bien m'i contig, miaz vos i contenez.
