Nessuno può contestare quanto meritata sia stata la fortuna toc cata al Sig. Rodriguez, in quanto che ebbe a forzarla per esserne favorito, ottenendo piante perfette dalla profondità di 105 a 150 metri, in ogni epoca dell'anno, e cioè nei varii gradi di sviluppo. Questo materiale perfettamente evoluto in ogni stadio de' suoi peculiari ca ratteri, ebbe alla sua volta la fortuna di essere stato sottoposto al l'esame del Bornet (i), cui il mondo scientifico deve la scoperta mo 1'ale della nuova Laminaria da lui, a ragione, specificata col nome del Rodriguez g1a tanto benemerito per avere questi contribuito a far conoscere la flora fanerogamica dell' isola di Minorca.
