Excerpt from Sanitary Science: As Applied to the Healthy Construction of Houses in Town and Country
The remarks on the various departments treated Of, have been made as practical as possible, so as to be applicable to the ordinary circumstances of town and country districts and houses. In offering these remarks, the author has been guided, not only by a fairly inti mate acquaintance with what has been made public during the last fifteen or twenty years on Sanitary Science, but by such experience as he has derived from a practical professional working out of the details, of more than one of its branches. His views on some of their points are no doubt peculiar, and he is well aware that they are by no means popular, or rather, he should say, not in accordance with the views which are popularly held in connection with them.
