About the author

Aparna Kapadia teaches History at Williams College, Massachusetts. She writes about the history of Gujarat and Western India, and the cultural and intellectual histories of early modern and modern South Asia. She is the author of several journal articles and co-editor of The Idea of Gujarat: History, Ethnography and Text (2010).
